  2. 4 Japanese perilla
  3. 1 sliced cheese
  4. Salt and pepper

  6. 30 g Flour
  7. 50 g bread crumbs

For people who prefer chicken, there is chicken katsu or Japanese fried chicken cutlet. Katsu is served with Tonkatsu sauce or katsu sauce, which pairs perfectly well with the fried meat. Chicken Katsu is one of my favorite Japanese recipes, and is basically fried chicken pounded thin and breaded with Panko breadcrumbs, then served with a sweet curry and Worcestershire-ketchup sauce. I like to serve this with Chinese Steamed Rice on the side, and some chopped green onions, or with my Perfect Brown Rice and a side salad.

Instructions to serve Chicken katsu:

  1. Cut chicken into half.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Put sliced cheese and Japanese perilla on the middle of the chicken.
  4. Break eggs in a plate. Soak checkin in the egg.
  5. Sprinkle bread crumbs on the both side of the chicken.
  6. Fry chicken in the pan until golden brown.

Katsu is a Japanese method of breadcrumbing chicken- this version is served with a rich curry sauce, from BBC Good Food. To make katsu sauce, combine catsup, soy sauce, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and red pepper in a small bowl and set aside. This is an insanely delicious dish that tastes SO good!! This Chicken Katsu is lightly breaded with a tender chicken inside. Japanese restaurants originally started this Chicken Katsu recipe then it become even more popular in Japan and Hawaii.
